Asst. Superintendent/Missions Director, Gaylan Claunch


Dr. Gaylan Claunch has been involved in full-time ministry since his call in 1968. He has served as on the faculty of Southwestern A/G University in Waxahachie, Texas and has served as a senior pastor for three congregations since 1978 in Texas and Oklahoma. Before his election to the office of Assistant Superintendent of the North Texas District, he served as pastor of Crossroads of Life A/G in Duncanville, Texas from 1988 to 2007. Under his leadership, the church grew from 260 to over 1000 in attendance and was one of the leading churches in missions in the District. Dr. Claunch has served as Presbyter of the South Dallas Section from 2005-2007, an Executive Presbyter from 2007 to present, a member of the Teen Life Challenge Board in 2007, District Minister of Music from 1991-2003, a member of the District Missions Board from 2002 to the present, a member of the Board of Regents of Southwestern A/G University 20007 to present, and was elected to honorary membership in Delta Epsilon Chi in 1992. Dr. Claunch holds a Doctor of Ministry from Oral Roberts University, a Master of Divinity from the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary and a Bachelor of Science from Southwestern A/G University. He was ordained as an Assemblies of God minister in 1976. Gaylan and Nancy Claunch have been married for the past 33 years. They have one son, Loren, and one daughter, Lesli, who is married to Rev. Dyran Deer; they have one daughter, DeLayna, who is almost 2 years old.
