Worship Pastor | Leander, TX - 7/2/2026

Job Type: Full or Part Time

Glad Tidings Church is a growing, Spirit-filled, multisite Assemblies of God church serving the greater Austin area. Our Leander Campus is located in one of the fastest-growing communities in Central Texas, just north of Austin.

Our mission is simple: Declare Hope and Develop People.

The Leander Campus gathers for two Sunday services and is experiencing steady growth in attendance, families, children, students, groups, and community impact. We have a healthy church, a strong staff culture, committed volunteers, and a congregation that is ready to worship and serve.

We are looking for a Worship Pastor/Director who wants to do more than lead songs. This is an opportunity to help shape the worship culture of a growing campus, develop musicians and leaders, and build a ministry that will serve the church for years to come.

The right person will find room to lead, room to create, and room to grow. They will also find a church that values people, supports ministry, and believes that excellence and the presence of God belong together.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

• Lead worship during both Sunday morning services and designated special services or events.

• Work closely with the Campus Pastor to plan worship services that support the overall direction and message of the service.

• Prayerfully select songs, create set lists, prepare arrangements, and lead weekly rehearsals.

• Recruit, train, schedule, pastor, and develop musicians and vocalists.

• Create a healthy worship-team culture marked by spiritual growth, preparation, unity, humility, and excellence.

• Identify and develop new worship leaders, musicians, vocalists, and next-generation leaders.

• Manage worship-service preparation and volunteer scheduling through Planning Center Services.

• Collaborate with the production team in areas such as sound, livestreaming, presentation software, stage preparation, and service execution.

• Help strengthen systems and communication for Sunday services, rehearsals, and special events.

• Participate in staff meetings, prayer gatherings, ministry events, and the broader life of Glad Tidings Church.

• Support the vision, values, and ministry direction of Glad Tidings Church and the Leander Campus.

And able to think and work outside of the box.

Job Requirements:

• A growing and evident relationship with Jesus Christ.

• Agreement with the beliefs, values, and Spirit-filled ministry of Glad Tidings Church and the Assemblies of God.

• Proven experience leading worship in a local-church setting.

• A strong lead vocalist who is also proficient on guitar or keys...or willing to learn.

• The ability to lead both a congregation and a team, not simply perform music.

• A heart for developing volunteers and helping others grow in their gifts and calling.

• Spiritual maturity, humility, integrity, dependability, and strong pastoral character.

• Strong organizational, communication, and relational skills.

• The ability to receive direction, collaborate with church leadership, and function as part of a staff team.

• Familiarity with Planning Center Services, tracks, in-ear monitoring, presentation software, livestreaming, and modern worship technology is preferred.

• Assemblies of God credentials, ministry education, or a willingness to pursue credentials is preferred but not required.

Lastly...teachable.

Dr. Venkat Potana

My name is Dr. Venkat Potana, and my wife is Rita Potana. Together, we have been serving the Lord in various ministry roles for more than thirty years. Throughout our ministry journey, we have been privileged to serve in pastoral ministry, evangelism, discipleship, missions, leadership development, theological education, and church planting. We are currently active members and ministry workers at First Assembly of God in White Settlement, Texas, where we continue to serve and support the ministry of the local church.

God has blessed us with three children. Our two daughters are currently pursuing their undergraduate studies at Hardin-Simmons University, and our son lives with us in Fort Worth. As a family, we are committed to following Christ and serving wherever God opens doors for ministry.

I am a Licensed Minister with the Assemblies of God and hold a Ph.D. in Theology, a Th.M. in Intercultural Studies, a Master of Divinity in Missions, an M.A. in Religion and Philosophy, and an M.A. in Social Work. During more than three decades of ministry, I have served as a Senior Pastor, missionary, church planter, campus minister, ministry trainer, professor, and mentor to pastors and emerging Christian leaders. God has also given me opportunities to preach and teach in churches, Bible colleges, seminaries, conferences, and leadership training programs in several countries.

My ministry experience includes pastoral leadership, church planting, evangelism, discipleship, pastoral counseling, leadership development, and cross-cultural missions. I have trained pastors and church leaders, led evangelistic and disciple-making ministries among university students, directed spiritual formation and pastoral care programs, and worked extensively among multicultural and international communities. In addition, I have authored more than seventy-five Christian books focused on discipleship, missions, leadership, spiritual growth, marriage, and family life.

As a Spirit-filled Pentecostal minister, I believe in the authority of Scripture, salvation through Jesus Christ, the baptism in the Holy Spirit, divine healing, the operation of spiritual gifts, and the empowering presence of the Holy Spirit in the life and ministry of the Church. My passion is to preach God's Word, make disciples, develop leaders, strengthen families, and help churches fulfill the Great Commission.

We are prayerfully seeking opportunities to serve a congregation where our experience, gifts, and calling can contribute to the spiritual growth of the church and the advancement of God's Kingdom. We would welcome consideration for Lead Pastor, Associate Pastor, Discipleship Pastor, Missions Pastor, Outreach Pastor, or Church Planting positions within the Assemblies of God fellowship.

Our desire is to serve Christ faithfully, love people wholeheartedly, equip believers for ministry, and help build healthy, Spirit-filled churches that impact their communities and the world with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
